We collect information directly from you when you use the site, including:
- Account details: your name, email address, and phone number when you register for an account.
- Trip enquiries: your name, email, phone number, and any details you provide when you request information about a group trip or a private trip.
- Reviews: if you’re invited to leave a review after a trip, we store the review text, star rating, and the name/email associated with your account or invite.
- Login activity: for account security, we log sign-in attempts along with your IP address, approximate location (derived from your IP address), device, and browser type.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to trip enquiries and provide details about group and private trips.
- Maintain your account and let you log in securely.
- Detect and prevent unauthorized access to accounts.
- Display approved traveller reviews on the site.
- Send you emails related to enquiries, reviews, or your account (we do not send marketing emails without your consent).
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to operate the site:
- A third-party IP geolocation lookup service is used to estimate the general location of sign-in attempts, for account security purposes only.
- Our web hosting provider stores data as part of running the site and its email delivery.
Cookies
We use standard login/session cookies so you can stay signed in to your account. These contain no personal data beyond what’s needed to recognize your session, and are removed when you log out.
How long we keep your data
We keep account, enquiry, and review data for as long as your account is active or as needed to respond to your enquiry. You can request deletion at any time (see below).
Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time by emailing hi@gbooky.com. We’ll respond as quickly as we can.
Children’s privacy
Gbooky is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
